My Interview "Wish List"

One of the questions that I often get asked is “Which celebrities would you like to interview the most on your show?”

To that extent, I thought it would be fun to put together a list of people that would be my “dream interviews”. Note that there is no particular ranking in this exercise. Once I set the list of 30 names, I put them all in a hat and drew them at random. That is the order that you see below.

If you're reading this and happen to know any of these people, please feel free to point their publicists in my direction. All interviews are 25-35 minutes long and done live by phone with recorded copies available afterwards.

I've been doing the show for almost 4 years now and have clocked in over 200 episodes with indie artists. Any of the people who have been on my show will tell you that I'm not the kind of podcaster that is out for blood. My only goal is to showcase my guests' accomplishments and hopefully have a few good-spirited laughs in the process.

Bearing that in mind, here is my “wish list”:
  1. Seth MacFarlane (Family Guy creator)
  2. Alton Brown (Food Network star)
  3. Sarah Silverman (comedian, actress)
  4. Stephen Fry (actor, author)
  5. George Foreman (legendary former boxer)
  6. Nicole Parker (actress – best known for Fox's MADtv)
  7. Charles Osgood (host of CBS Sunday Morning)
  8. Helen Mirren (actress)
  9. Emilio Estevez (actor, director)
  10. Garth Ennis (comic book writer – best known for Preacher)
  11. Mike Rowe (host of TLC's Dirty Jobs)
  12. Ciarán Hinds (actor)
  13. Diablo Cody (screenwriter)
  14. George Stroumboulopoulos (Canadian talk-show host)
  15. Kelley Armstrong (fantasy novelist)
  16. Daniel Tosh (host of Comedy Central's Tosh.0)
  17. Candice Bergen (actress)
  18. Rob Reiner (actor, director)
  19. Quentin Tarantino (director)
  20. Christopher Lawford (actor, author)
  21. Warren Buffett (business magnate, philanthropist)
  22. Melissa McCarthy (actress)
  23. Michael Caine (actor, author)
  24. Yoko Ono (artist, activist)
  25. Ellen DeGeneres (talk-show host, comedian)
  26. Joey Elias (Montreal-based comedian. Done! Listen to the interview here)
  27. Norman Jewison (director)
  28. Rachel McAdams (actress)
  29. Rémy Girard (legendary French-Canadian actor)
  30. Sacha Baron Cohen (in or out of character – I don't mind being a stunt for one of his films)

  1. Helen Mirren. OH. YES. She is the queen. Well, you "put it out" in the universe. So, let's see what returns to you!

  2. Thanks, Lynette. Helen Mirren looks like a really good sport to and I think she'd make for a fun interview. Ironically, I actually met 3 of these people already (Kelley Armstrong, Christopher Lawford, and Joey Elias). Albeit that was before I started doing my show :-)

  3. Oh, man. I wish I had ANY kind of power to help you with this wish list. I'm telling you, though, if I have the chance to meet them I'll gush about you!

    1. Thanks for the vote of confidence, Erin! I just thought I'd throw this list out there and see what happens. If nothing else it gives me another little random conversation starter.

    1. Hi Jason - The Sand Pebbles is one of my favorite movies and I also think she was party to one of the funniest moments on SNL. I've seen her interviewed a few times and think it would be a really interesting conversation. She must have a whole bunch of cool stories.

    1. Thanks, Eden. Eclectic and varied was pretty much the target - makes for a solid conversation starter. Getting to appear on Strombo's show myself would be a huge thrill! He even replied to a couple of my Tweets if you'll believe it :-)

  6. Awesome list Casey. As far as Miss. Silverman goes, I believe her sister Laura s in an indie webseries (@GoodniteBurbank ) that's all I know. I sure you can make something happen.

    1. Thanks for the tip, John. I appreciate the nod to "Goodnite Burbank" on Twitter too. It'll be fun to see if I get any actual leads on these names.
