Spring Into Summer: A Review

Spring Into Summer is erotica raconteur Eden Baylee’s long-awaited follow-up to her first book, Fall Into Winter. Much like the first book (which was published in 2010), Spring Into Summer is an anthology of four steamy stories that each offer a unique slant on life, love, and sex.

As impressed as I was with Fall Into Winter, I equally believe that Eden Baylee’s writing has improved substantially with this second effort. Her biggest strength lies in the construction of her characters. All of the people in her stories have a definite role to play with their back-stories and motivations concisely mapped out.

More importantly, they’re all very “human” characters and remain relatable on some level. Be it a poetry professor in England or masseuse in Thailand, Eden is able to conjure up individuals that you could easily see yourself welcoming into your own home.

The sex scenes are both vivid and abundant but, they aren’t gratuitous in nature either. Instead, our storyteller invites you to dive deep into the scenarios that she has created before subtly making you work for the juiciest parts. Though some are clearly staged in more elaborate/exotic settings than others – including one gathering that convinced yours truly that Wiccans throw the best parties – none of the interludes crosses the line of becoming entirely unbelievable.

The resultant effect is four highly engrossing, entertaining, arousing, and often touching tales as told from the perspective of the female protagonists who lived them.
